Hello friends, The collaborators of www.cheguevara.com would like to enthusiastically welcome you to this web site. We thank you for visiting and hope you enjoy and assimilate Che's spirit. We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and invite you to become a Che Guevara collaborator. Together we can grow the Che Guevara network. We are a collective of technical and cultural workers based in New York City. Currently we come from Argentina, Nicaragua, Peru, and the United States. We share Che's vision of revolutionary Socialism. As a non-partisan independent group that supports all programs leading to genuine emancipation, social justice, national liberation, international brotherhood, and the eradication of privilege based on class, race, and gender, we emphasis above all the importance of unity. As Che wrote: "The unity of repressive forces must encounter the unity of the people's forces. In all the countries in which oppression becomes unbearable, the banner of rebellion must be raised, and this banner of historical necessity will have a continental character." Our struggles must now take on a global character as well--the globalization of popular forces. As part of this effort, we hope to join with you in celebrating the growing Che Guevara network that is flooding cyberspace. With dozens of web sites dedicated to his memory, thousands of references to his struggles, and more Che Guevaristas coming on line every day, his ideas will continue to shape our destiny and his life will continue set a model for self-sacrifice, human dignity, and social conscience. We will be like Che! Download the revolution now! In Solidarity, Che Guevaristas "Socialism cannot exist without a change in conscience to a new fraternal attitude toward humanity, not only within the societies which are building or have built socialism, but also on a world scale toward all peoples suffering from imperialist oppression." --Excerpted from a speech by Che Guevara to the Second Economic Seminar of the Organization of Afro-Asian Solidarity, Algiers, Algeria, February 26, 1965. |
